Pingzr ("we", "us", "our") is a free website reachability checker. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights as a user. We take privacy seriously and collect only what is necessary to provide the service.
What we collect
We collect the minimum data needed to run the service:
Site lists - the URLs and labels you add to check. Stored in your browser's localStorage by default. If you sign in, synced to your account in Firebase Firestore.
Account data - if you sign in with Google, we store your Google account email, display name, and unique user ID in Firebase. This is used only to sync your site list across devices.
Anonymous user ID - if you use share codes or import features without signing in, Firebase creates an anonymous account with a random ID. No personal information is attached.
What we do not collect
We do not track which sites you check
We do not run analytics or advertising trackers
We do not sell or share your data with third parties
We do not store check results or response times
Third-party services
Pingzr uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
Firebase (Google) - authentication and data storage. Data is processed by Google LLC under their Firebase Privacy Policy. Your site list is stored in Google's servers.
Google reCAPTCHA v3 - used to protect Firebase from abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, including mouse movements and browsing behavior, to determine whether interactions are human. This data is sent to Google and subject to Google's Privacy Policy. By using Pingzr, you agree to Google's use of reCAPTCHA.
Google Fonts - fonts are loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log your IP address when serving fonts. See Google Fonts Privacy FAQ.
Cloudflare - Pingzr is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log request metadata (IP, user agent) for security and performance purposes. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Cookies and local storage
Pingzr does not use tracking cookies. We use the following browser storage:
localStorage - stores your site list locally on your device under the key pingzr_sites_v1. This data never leaves your device unless you sign in.
Firebase Auth session storage - if you sign in, Firebase stores an authentication token in IndexedDB to keep you signed in across sessions. This is functional storage, not a tracking cookie.
Data retention
Local data (localStorage) persists until you sign out or clear your browser data.
Firestore data is retained as long as your account exists.
Share codes expire automatically after 7 days.
Anonymous Firebase accounts with no activity may be deleted after 30 days.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:
Access - you can view all data we hold by signing in and inspecting your site list.
Deletion - you can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at contact@pingzr.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Portability - you can export your site list at any time using the Export JSON button in the Share modal.
Objection - you can use Pingzr without signing in. All core checking functionality works with data stored only in your browser.
Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the basis of legitimate interest (providing the sync service you requested) and consent (when you choose to sign in with Google). You can withdraw consent at any time by signing out.
Data transfers
Firebase stores data in Google's infrastructure, which may be located outside the European Economic Area. Google complies with GDPR through Standard Contractual Clauses. See Firebase Privacy for details.
Children
Pingzr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the last update. Continued use of Pingzr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
